News DriveClub 1.04 patch improves online functionality

Another day, another day of despair for disgruntled DriveClub players eager to create their clubs and get stuck into racing online, as its online server woes continue to prevent it being played how it was intended for the majority.

Mercifully, however, in the latest of Evolution's daily updates on the situation, things appear to be improving, with the deployment of a new 1.04 patch which is said to improve server performance. 

More specifically, the 1.04 patch "fixes scheduled events from occasionally disappearing from the event browser in multiplayer" and "fixes incorrect target times/scores from appearing in Time Trial and Drift Events," along with "several game-side multiplayer improvements to reduce server load" which should hopefully ease the congestion crippling the game. 

The patch is being destributed on a region-by-region basis, so if it isn't live for you yet you should see it pop up within the next 24 hours.

In a FaceBook update, Evolution added that  more servers and new upgrades "are still coming online hour-by-hour so we expect improvements to server connectivity and reliability for everyone. We will be bringing Face-offs back into play soon."

"Essential diagnostics are still running periodically (for the next 12 hours) to help us continue to improve server performance. This may disrupt online play for you when you get connected."

Unfortunately, there's still no sign of the long-awaited PlayStation Plus Edition of DriveClub, which Evolution acknowledged: "We are still also working hard to get the PS Plus Edition of DRIVECLUB out as soon as possible and hope to update you on this soon," they concluded.
