As we know, Criterion Games' future involvement with the Need for Speed series was recently discontinued with the announcement of EA Ghosts' takeover.
What we didn't know, however, is that Criterion has been restructured and reduced to just 16 people, as revealed by Creative Director Alex Ward on Twitter. The remaining staff have left to form a new studio known as Ghost Games UK, comprising of the 60 – 65 Criterion staff members who are said to be working on this year's Need for Speed: Rivals with EA Ghost Games.
Whether EA Ghost Games and Ghost Games UK will collaborate in future projects or work independently remains unknown, however.
Meanwhile, the 16 employees left at Criterion Games are still said to be working on a top secret project.
