News Codemasters releases DiRT Rally simulation title on Steam Early Access

The latest entry in Codemasters Racing's 'DiRT' rally game franchise has been released through Steam Early Access.
Dubbed 'DiRT Rally', the new motorsports title is claimed by Codemasters to be the most simulation-centric DiRT game to date, with a greater emphasis on a "pure rally experience" than previous releases.
For instance, the all-new physics engine is said to be able to simulate "everything from the way the surface of the road behaves to limited slip differentials", and the 36 stages spread across the three locations currently featured in-game (Greece, Wales and Monte Carlo) are all claimed to be authentic recreations of their real-life counterparts.
A team management system is also included in DiRT Rally, which tasks players with hiring race engineers who'll repair any car damage sustained during the rally stages. To further emphasise the need to hire a well-qualified crew of mechanics, the 'rewind' feature that's been present in every core DiRT game will not be featured in DiRT Rally.
Being a Steam Early Access title, DiRT Rally will be regularly updated, with bug fixes and extra free content and features being added to the title throughout its development. For instance, the Pikes Peak Hill Climb is confirmed to be in the pipelines, and the current car roster of 17 (which ranges from rally legends like the Subaru Impreza to the less obvious BMW E30 M3) will be expanded in the coming months.
As of now, Codemasters has no intentions of bringing DiRT Rally to consoles, with the main focus being the development of the sim on PC. However, Codemasters has stated it will consider releasing the game on Xbox One and PS4, should there be enough demand for the title once the PC version is given a fully-fledged release.
DiRT Rally is currently available through the Steam Early Access store front, with a disocunted promotional price of £22.49 in the UK until May 4th 2015. Once that date has passed, DiRT Rally Early Access will retail for £24.99.
