Platform: PC, PS4, XBox One

Release Date: 21/05/2015

Carmageddon: Reincarnation, the latest game in the much loved long-running series, has suffered a last minute delay. The car combat game was initially due for a PC release on April 23. However this has now been put back a month, with a new date of May 21.

It's not all bad news, however. There will now be a further update to the Early Access build sometime before it's newly revised release date. This update is said to feature numerous improvements to the game.

The developer, Stainless Games, released a statement on Steam about the recent delay:

"As you all know, we’d set our release date as the 23rd April. Well, despite all our best efforts (and believe me, the dev team have been working around the clock 24/7 to achieve this goal) I’m announcing today that we’re pushing that date out by what is technically referred to as "a tad".

We’ve been making great strides on all fronts, and were within a metric smidge of releasing next week,

gives us time to polish various areas of the game even further."

Carmageddon fans are some of the best out there and the reception to the news of the delay was met with positivity as expected. The fans are happy to wait "a tad" more for a superior experience.

Carmageddon: Reincarnation came about from a very successful Kickstarter campaign back in 2012, it managed to raise close to a quarter of a million over it's $400,000 target. The game is not just exclusive to the PC, it will also make its way onto the Playstation 4 and Xbox One consoles at some point. We'll update you on the status of the console versions as soon we know more.

Are you looking forward to Carmageddon: Reincarnation? Did you play the 1997 original, which was deemed as one of the most controversial games of all time?
